Safe Areas in Vancouver?

Maybe you'd better clarify where it is that you'll be going to school. I googled "Art Institute Vancouver" and came up with several possible locations. Kitsilano and Marpole are pretty good, Rupert Park isn't bad, Middlegate would be low on my list. East Hastings is fine in daytime but you probably wouldn't want to be there on your own at night. The West End of Vancouver is good too. Having a car might not be of much benefit if you have to pay for downtown parking in the daytime. It's not cheap. You won't find all day street parking at any price.
