Is the area where rickshaw theater safe?

I bought tickets to a show there, without even knowing where the Rickshaw Theater is, all I knew that it was in my town, so I look at my ticket and it says "254 East Hastings Street", I quickly panic because I've heard some VERY bad things about that place, any info? Thanks in advance.
